Korea Tamil Sangam

To recognize, motivate and publicize achievements of Tamils from various parts of the globe and people belonging to various Indian communities who reside in South Korea, Korea Tamil Sangam (KTS) initiated the program of presenting the yearly "Korea Tamil Sangam Awards".

The awards will be presented to people who made an appreciable contribution in the fields in exploring the Korea-Tamil cultural and linguistic relationship, India - Korea relationship in various fields, education and sports, science and technology, and social work.

These awards will be presented in our Tamil Art and Cultural Meet organized every year during the month of August-October. For the following awards, nominations are being accepted from 1 August every year.

2) KTS Award - for Scientific Excellence
3) KTS Award - for Young Scientists
4) KTS Award - for Tamil-Korean Relations
5) KTS Award - for Sports
6) KTS Award - for Engineers
7) KTS Award - for Entrepreneur
8) KTS Award - for Skilled Workers
9) KTS Award - for the Social Activists
10) KTS Award - for Creators

  • KTS Award - for Tamil-Korean Relations
    •     This will be awarded to the academic researchers and people who are working to explore the Tamil-Korean linguistic and cultural relationship. Publishing related articles in a mainstream and social media -Making public speeches associated with this topic.

  • KTS Award - for India-Korea Relations
    •      This will be awarded to the public servants, common people and entrepreneurs who working to enhance cooperation between India and Korea in various fields. Public servants such as diplomats who working in this area People who initiate academic and industrial collaboration/partnership between the related institution/industries in India and Korea.

  • KTS Award - for Young Scientists
    •      This will be awarded to the students who displayed outstanding achievements in the area of Science Engineering. 2 SCI/SCIE publication as first/corresponding author/coauthor Oral/Poster Presentation outside Korea (USA, Europe, Australia, Japan, China....not India).

  • KTS Award - for Scientific Excellence
    •      This will be awarded to the application who displayed outstanding achievements in the area of Science/Engineering/Teaching. -5 SCI/SCIE publication as lead/corresponding author Patent Holding project above 100,000,000 KRW.

  • KTS Award - for Sports
    •      This will be awarded to the students who displayed outstanding achievements in the sports. Cricket Winner, Badminton Winner -Cycle/Marathon race winner.

  • KTS Award - for Social Work
    •      This will be awarded to the application who displayed outstanding achievements in the social service.

  • KTS Award - for Engineers
    •        This will be awarded to the application who displayed outstanding achievements in the Engineering.

  • KTS Award - for Entrepreneur
    •      This will be awarded to the people who displayed outstanding achievements in business in Korea.

  • KTS Award - for Skilled Workers
    •      This will be awarded to the Skilled Workers employed in industry, restaurants, etc.

  • KTS Award - for Social Activists
    •      This will be awarded to the individuals who working to make awareness to people about various social issues via various means such as field work and social media.

  • KTS Award - for Creators
    •      This will be awarded to the individuals who reflect the life and cultural identity of Tamils and social issues and policies through their creations that includes writings, drawing, cinema and other arts. Notably, for this award nominations are open globally. Also, there was no nomination fee for this award.
